Mission

The Immunohistochemistry Laboratory of the Department of Pathology is committed to provide the highest quality immunohistochemical preparations performed in a timely, efficient manner. The laboratory provides support to both, clinical and research areas. The field is growing and changing daily and our main focus and responsibility is to keep up with it.

People

The Immunohistochemistry Laboratory is staffed by three full time technicians, including the supervisor, Mary M. Helie. The medical and administrative aspects of the Lab are conducted under the direction of Dr. Miguel Reyes-Múgica.

Facility

The laboratory is located in the Medical School, Lauder Hall LH 222. Currently, the laboratory has an inventory of over 200 primary antibodies for clinical and research use. A comprehensive list of antibodies and protocols is available upon request. An automated stainer system is used for approximately half of the clinical workload; it is our goal to increase its use for greater consistency and faster turnaround time. Over 12,000 clinical slides are generated per year.
