Yale Pathology Labs at Bridgeport

As of May 1, 2001, Yale Pathology became the exclusive provider of pathology services at Bridgeport Hospital, providing medical direction for all pathology and clinical laboratory services including point-of-care testing programs and medical education support throughout the Hospital.

A team of five full-time Yale pathologists is now based at Bridgeport Hospital and is available to provide diagnostic interpretations and consultation in both Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. In addition to the Bridgeport-based faculty, over 40 additional Yale faculty at Yale-New Haven Hospital stand ready to provide further consultative expertise. Collectively, this team brings to Bridgeport Hospital a level of competence in diagnostic pathology and laboratory medicine rivaled by few other institutions.

The expanded Yale faculty on the Bridgeport and New Haven campuses provide outstanding diagnostic services in all areas of pathology, including the subspecialty areas of cytopathology, gynecological and gestational pathology, neuropathology, ophthalmic pathology, gastroenterologic and hepatic pathology, genitourinary pathology, dermatopathology, breast pathology, reproductive pathology, pediatric pathology, electron microscopy, molecular pathology, and others.

While Yale Pathology has been providing diagnostic services to doctors’ offices in the Bridgeport area for a number of years, the demand on the part of local clinicians to utilize Yale’s services has increased even further since Yale Pathology initiated its pathology services at Bridgeport Hospital.
