How do I get supplies?
For the initial setup, Courtney Trotta or Frank Mennone will arrange for you to receive the supplies you require according to your diagnostic needs, including requisition forms, specimen bags, biopsy containers, and slide folders. Once you have started using our service, you will be able to fill out a supply request form and simply give it to your courier, who will be able to fill your needs within 24 - 48 hours.
What geographic areas does your courier service cover?
What geographic areas does your courier service cover? Our daily courier service currently covers the southern Connecticut corridor, from Stamford to New London and north to Middletown. For service outside that region, we can provide a scheduled courier service or provide complete U.S. specimen mailing package including mailing cartons, test kits, specimen bags and containers, and labels for easy mailing to Yale Pathology.

How do I contact the pathologist in charge of my case?
Please call us toll-free at (877) YALE LAB or (203) 785-2788, and you will be transferred to the pathologist.
As a patient at another hospital, I would like to have my pathology slides sent to Yale Pathology because I have an upcoming appointment at Yale-New Haven Medical Center (or I would like a second opinion). What do I do?
Patients can bring slides themselves during their visit, or have them sent beforehand to the consult desk located in the Surgical Pathology Unit:Surgical Pathology, East Pavilion, 2-631,Yale University School of Medicine,200 South Frontage Road,New Haven,CT 06510
Please make sure that the final report accompanies your slides. Sometimes the institute sending the slides is billable for the consult—at other times it is the patient's responsibility. Please check with your hospital to determine if you may be liable for our diagnostic assessment charge. If so, please provide your name, address, date of birth, and insurance information.
My diagnostic tests were assessed at Yale Pathology Services and my doctor (or I) would like my slides sent to another institution. How do I arrange this?
Contact Mike DeLauro at (203) 737-5720 (or have your doctor’s office do so) who will arrange for your slides and final report to be sent. Please give us a week’s advance notice to assemble your case.
RELAY – Remote Electronic Labs at Yale
Yale Pathology Labs understand the growing emphasis in the healthcare industry on information technology solutions that improve patient care through enhanced efficiency, decreased errors, and effective management of clinicians’ time. Bridgeport Hospital
As of May 1, 2001, Yale Pathology became the exclusive provider of pathology services at Bridgeport Hospital, providing medical direction for all pathology and clinical laboratory services including point-of-care testing programs and medical education support throughout the Hospital. Each year, the Bridgeport Pathology Services handle 15,000 surgical pathology cases and 4,000 cytology cases, and perform over 1.4 million complex clinical lab tests.
A team of five full-time Yale pathologists are based at Bridgeport Hospital and available to provide diagnostic interpretations and consultation in both Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. In addition to our Bridgeport-based faculty, over 40 additional Yale faculty at Yale–New Haven Hospital stand ready to provide further consultative expertise. Collectively, this team brings to Bridgeport Hospital a level of competence in diagnostic pathology and laboratory medicine rivaled by few other institutions.
Shoreline Medical Center
Shoreline Medical Center 111 Goose Lane, Guilford, CT The Yale–New Haven Shoreline Medical Center is the state-of-the art facility that brings medical care in a community-based setting to residents of the Connecticut shoreline. As a satellite of Yale–New Haven Hospital, the center hosts a full emergency department and centers for surgery, diagnostic radiology, laboratory medicine, nuclear medicine, radiation oncology, and surgical pathology. Yale Pathology Labs provide the Center’s on-site surgical pathology and cytology services for patients and physicians.
