Expertise:
patholgenesis of breast cancer.

Research Interests:
One of the potentially most rewarding features of cancer research is the possibility that advances in the basic understanding of the disease will translate into improved diagnostic methods, earlier detection of disease, accurate prognostic evaluation, and ultimately advances in therapy. The Program for Critical Technologies in Molecular Medicine synergizes basic research and the bridging of basic and clinical research in oncology by providing investigators with essential services including i) access to fresh, frozen, and/or paraffin-embedded human tissues in which both the pathology and clinical status are well characterized, and which are collected and distributed in an ethical manner; ii) a wide range of sophisticated histologic, immunologic, genetic, and molecular analyses of relevance to cancer; iii) an increasingly comprehensive retrospective and longitudinal follow-up database of the clinical course of patients whose tissues have been accessed through the PCTMM.

Tissue Procurement and Tissue Prodect distribution; Material Transfer Agreements, Pathogenesis of Breast Cancer; Race differences in breast cancer survival. Pathogenesis and treatment of TS, OCD, and related disorders. Organochlorine compounds/risk of breast cancer. Other Interests: Biomedical Research Ethics, Science Education
